Walter Sidney Hubble, the founder along with his wife Edmonia Nelson Hubble established Hubble Funeral Home in 1900. In l936, a big 36th celebration was held in the community. Their children, Edward Sidney Hubble, Jerome Nelson Hubble, Sarah Hubble, Mary L. Hubble, Hannibal Hubble, and Georgia Parham Tucker Hubble worked and managed the family business.
The funeral home is currently in its third generation under the management of Jean Parham Eason. She returned to the funeral home in l995 with experience in teaching, legal matters, bookkeeping/accounting, marketing and management.
The Hubble family members were community minded people who believed in helping others and giving to their community. Sarah Hubble was a charter member of the Beta Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Mary Hubble was also a member. Jean Parham Eason, a college woman of ability and character became a member of Gamma Alpha Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on November 29, 1963 to follow in the footsteps of the Hubble Ladies, and other noted college educated women. Currently, she is a member of the graduate chapter, Beta Pi Omega of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Eason is now recognized as a "Golden Soror" and "Life Member". She was also the Charter Chapter Advisor of Theta Eta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Henderson State University while living in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was also recognized as Arkadelphia Teacher of the Year, and Arkansas Marketing Teacher of the year, her students were often recognized for State and National Awards, and she served as President of the Sunshine Service Club in Arkadelphia.
